Using the Sidebar Panel
How to use the sidebar panel to edit content block fields.
The sidebar panel is the left-side panel in the Visual Editor. It’s where you edit structured data fields that can’t be changed by clicking on the page directly.
When to Use the Sidebar
Section titled “When to Use the Sidebar”Use the sidebar when you need to:
- Edit fields that aren’t inline-editable (images, links, layout options)
- Manage array items (adding/removing cards, profiles, carousel images)
- Change styling options (background colors, text alignment, spacing)
- Edit SEO fields (page description, featured image, etc.)
Navigating the Sidebar
Section titled “Navigating the Sidebar”When you open a page, the sidebar shows the page-level fields at the top:
- Title — The page title
- Title suffix — Optional subtitle
- SEO — Search engine optimization fields
- Content Blocks — The list of all content blocks
Expanding Content Blocks
Section titled “Expanding Content Blocks”
Click on any block in the Content Blocks list to expand it and see its fields. For example, expanding a Media Block shows:
- Heading — The block’s heading text and style
- Body text (supports formatting) — The main content
- Image — The image file
- Image description — Image description
- Image position — Left or right
- Background color — Background color
- Spacing — Vertical spacing
