Saving & Publishing Changes
How to save your edits and publish them to the live website.
After making changes in the Visual Editor, you need to save them. Here’s how the save and publish process works.
Saving Your Changes
Section titled “Saving Your Changes”

After making your edits, click the Save button in the top toolbar.

CloudCannon saves your changes and rebuilds the page preview.

Your changes are now saved but may need to go through a publish step depending on your site’s setup.
Understanding the Publish Flow
Section titled “Understanding the Publish Flow”Depending on how your site is configured, saving may:
- Publish immediately — Your changes go live on the website right after saving.
- Create a draft — Changes are saved but not yet live. An administrator will review and publish.
Reviewing Changes Before Publishing
Section titled “Reviewing Changes Before Publishing”Before saving, you can:
- Preview the page — The Visual Editor shows a live preview of exactly how the page will look.
- Check other pages — Navigate to other pages to make sure your changes didn’t affect anything unintentionally.
Reverting Changes
Section titled “Reverting Changes”If you made a mistake:
- Before saving: Simply close the editor without saving. Your changes will be discarded.
- After saving: CloudCannon keeps a version history. Contact your administrator to restore a previous version.
