Opening the Visual Editor
How to use CloudCannon's Visual Editor to see and edit your pages.
The Visual Editor is your main tool for editing pages. It shows a live preview of the page exactly as visitors will see it, with editable areas highlighted for you.
What the Visual Editor Looks Like
When you open a page, you'll see three key areas:
- 1The Preview (center) A live, full-width preview of your page. This shows exactly what visitors will see on the website. You can scroll through the page and click on content to edit it.
- 2The Sidebar (left side) A panel on the left with form fields for every editable property. When you click on a content block in the preview, the sidebar scrolls to show its fields.
- 3The Toolbar (top) The bar at the very top of the screen. It contains the Save button, the page title, and navigation options to go back to the dashboard.
How to Open the Visual Editor
- 1
From the Dashboard, click Pages in the left sidebar.
- 2
Navigate to the page you want to edit. You can browse through folders or use the search field at the top to find a page by name.
- 3
Click the page name — it will open directly in the Visual Editor.
Click on any content block in the preview to see its fields appear in the sidebar. This is the quickest way to jump straight to the field you want to change.
Two Ways to Edit
CloudCannon gives you two complementary ways to make changes. You'll often use both during a single editing session.
Inline Editing
Click directly on text or images in the live preview to edit them in place. Changes appear instantly, so you can see exactly how they'll look on the page. Great for quick text tweaks and image swaps.
