Common Issues & Solutions

Troubleshooting guide for common problems when editing the LXGlobal website.

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter while editing.

Cause: Not all components support inline editing. Only specific fields in certain blocks are inline-editable.

Solution: Use the sidebar panel instead. Click on the content block in the preview, then edit the field in the sidebar on the left.

Blocks that support inline editing:

  • Text Block (heading, content)
  • Media Block (heading, content, image)
  • Resources Banner (heading, subheading, button text)
  • Homepage Hero (title, subtitle, highlighted text)

My changes aren’t showing in the preview

Section titled “My changes aren’t showing in the preview”

Cause: The preview sometimes takes a moment to rebuild after changes.

Solution:

  1. Wait a few seconds for the preview to refresh.
  2. If it still doesn’t update, try saving and reopening the page.
  3. Check that you’re editing the correct field — some similarly named fields exist.

Solution:

  • Before saving: Close the editor without saving (click away or press Escape). Your changes will be discarded.
  • After saving: Contact your administrator. CloudCannon keeps version history, and they can restore a previous version.

The page looks different from what I expected

Section titled “The page looks different from what I expected”

Cause: Layout options like image_position, text_alignment, or background may have been changed.

Solution: Check the block’s layout fields in the sidebar:

  • image_position — Should be left or right
  • text_alignment — Should be left, center, or right
  • background — Check the background color
  • block_spacing — Check vertical spacing setting

Solution:

  1. Use the search bar in the Pages section.
  2. Check the correct folder — pages are organized by section (services, about, etc.).
  3. Remember that landing pages are at the section root (e.g., services.md) while detail pages are in sub-folders (e.g., services/air-freight.md).

I uploaded an image but it looks stretched or blurry

Section titled “I uploaded an image but it looks stretched or blurry”

Cause: The image dimensions don’t match the recommended size.

Solution:

Image TypeRecommended Size
Hero banner backgroundAt least 1920px wide
Media block imageAt least 800px wide
Service card imageAt least 500px wide
Profile photoAt least 400px wide

Use JPG format for photos and PNG for graphics with transparency. Keep file sizes under 500KB when possible.

Cause: You might not have the right permissions, or you’re in the wrong section.

Solution:

  1. Make sure you’re in the Pages section (not Site Settings/Data).
  2. Click the + Add button in the top right.
  3. If you don’t see the + Add button, contact your administrator — you may need additional permissions.

Cause: No changes have been detected.

Solution: Make sure you’ve actually modified a field. Sometimes clicking into a field without changing anything doesn’t register as a change.
